Shutdown

It’s so unsettling. This whole coronavirus. The world seems to be spinning out of control.

What does this mean? What are we allowed to do? Where are we allowed to go? Can we have people over for dinner? Can I grocery shop for that dinner? Should I be going to the gym?

My school just closed down for 2 weeks. Disney World is closed. Everything is being cancelled.

I can’t make sense of this. It is so unsettling. I hope that we can be kind and compassionate and understanding.

What will I do? Clean…Read….Oh and all the laundry.

  1. I feel all of this. Our district has not decided to close as of yet. I love this line…”I hope that we can be kind and compassionate and understanding.” I’m currently watching CNN, Cuomo Prime Time. He mentioned how we all need each other (not by touching or gathering, of course) to help keep each other healthy. Both your post and his statement resonate with me right now.

  2. My district just closed today, so I’m feeling similar feelings. I particularly love your last line, because of the way it highlights that amidst all this uncertainty and upheaval, normal life and tasks continue. Your post does such a great job of capturing the complexity of feelings.
